Over the last week, TKS Coach, John Matich had the opportunity to work with Blake Miller (12 years old) from the newly formed FC Balboa soccer club on a beautiful North Park day at Morley Field in San Diego. Blake came in with great enthusiasm, wanting to improve his kicking technique and finishing skills.
Blake was ready to score goals after a thorough TKS Dynamic Warm-up and some footwork coordination drills. Coach Matich worked with him on his first touch to help him properly set the ball in place so he could get his foot on the ball. Blake worked on two-touch finishing and then first-touch finishing later in the session. Coach Matich incorporated numerous drills he learned from legend Croatian coach Ziggy Zigante and his time at the legendary HNK Rijeka (https://nk-rijeka.hr/) and GNK Dinamo (https://gnkdinamo.hr/en) youth academies in Croatia.
“Blake has a great potential due to his overall athleticism and a hard working kid, I would like to him to unlock his potential over the next few years,” said Coach Matich.
