On Sunday, TKS continued its 2009 Combine Cycle. With a solid group from top to bottom, it was a great day of kicking. Schools from across the California were represented as far north as the Bay Area. The camp started with some basic instruction and quickly picked up pace going into the combine. Branden Perry, ended up with the best statstical day going 8 for 9 on field goals and hitting some bombs on kickoffs. But the day ended with Mike Gruber winning the field goal competition with a booming 53 yard FG. “I belive Mike should be up for All-State Kicker, he’s just solid!” said TKS Director John Matich. Tyler Strickland, came in firing as well hitting a 4.1 hang time kickoff. “Thats the best hang time I have see this year from a senior high school player, he is DI worthy,” said John Matich.
“I cant not believe the talent we had today, I think every kid at this combine should be playing college football somewhere!” said John Matich. Matich went on to say, “Who cares about national rankings and garbage like that, I will stick by these kids and put them up against any ranked kicker. More importantly these kids perform under pressure and for their high school teams. In my mind they are national ranked!”
“I had a great time and I believe TKS does a great job from a technique standpoint to aiding me to find the right college. John took the time to watch my game last Friday night and then take video. After that he edited it and turned the game clips into another highlight tape. I cant not believe the service I am getting. TKS goes above and beyond anything I could imagine for a kicking coach.” – Mike Gruber, Christian HS
The next TKS combine is coming in December!
Stay tuned!
