TKS has posted a preliminary list of kickers & punters that could possibly be drafted this upcoming weekend. Check back each day this week and will have a countdown to the NFL Draft 2010. We will have in-depth analysis and comments and live coverage of the draft.
I don’t expect any kicker to get drafted in the first three rounds. I think the first specialist to get drafted will be, Zoltan Mesko, from Michigan. Overall, there could be a possible 2 or 3 specialists getting signed, the rest will fill rosters as free agents. Shayne Graham leads the list of notable free agent kickers. I expect him to be signed by possibly Baltimore or another team. I also believe there is a ton of talent on the free agent market that has yet to play in a NFL game or a full season. There could some new faces this fall as teams have open competitions. There has all ready been some movement with a few specialists getting signed for example, Justin Medlock in Washington, as he will compete with Graham Gano. It’s always curious to note how David Buehler will be able to handle field goal duties for the Cowboys. The Cowboys signed Conner Hughes, just in case the plan explodes. Look for the Bengals to possible draft a kicker to compete with Dave Rayner. Cant forget Nick Folk with the Jets, a new beginning for him, keep an eye on that situation.
