August 1st , 2010 – SAN DIEGO, CA – Current Arena league kicker and San Diego native John Matich (Mira Mesa HS), is holding a national football kicking camp for the best kickers in San Diego today from 9-12pm at Mira Mesa HS. The camp is for Pop Warner to high school students and will bring in talent from all over Southern California.

Coach Matich, is a former kicker for the Minnesota Vikings, Boston College, and  San Diego Shockwave kicker (NIFL) and currently kicks for the Omaha Beef (IFL).  Matich has become know as the leading kicking coach on the west coast.

This will be it’s 7th Annual Summer Football Kicking Camp.  Matich and his professional staff of football coaches will host the half-day Kicking Camp and competition.  LOCAL ATHLETES include:

  • SDSU punter Brian Stohavich (Cathederal Catholic HS)
  • USD Kicker Stanley Shurson (Ramona HS)
  • CAL Kicker David Seawright (Rancho Bernardo HS)
  • SDSU Kicker, McCall Penn (La Jolla HS)
  • Lafayette Kicker, Ethan Swerdlow (La Jollla HS)
  • Marist Kicker, Jason Myers (Mater Dei HS)
  • Brad Greenway, Cornell University (La Costa Canyon HS)

TKS has also placed over 20 students of the last few years to colleges across the country.
