Two-sport athlete Nick Crannell of Agua Dulce, Calif., has signed a Dakota Athletic Conference letter of intent with Jamestown College and will play baseball and football.
An infielder in baseball, Crannell hit .527 with 57 hits, 39 RBIs, 11 doubles and seven triples in his last two season for Vasquez High School.
“We are very excited that Nick has chosen to wear a Jimmie uniform,” JC baseball coach Tom Hager said. “We believe that Nick has the potential to be a very good college athlete both on the football field and on the diamond. Off the field, Nick has shown he is an excellent student and first-class individual.”
A kicker in football, he hit six field goals and helped VHS to a 10-2 record. He also carries a 4.0 GPA.
“Nick is a great addition to our football program,” JC coach Bud Etzold said. “He is a quality student-athlete who will help add some depth to our kicking game.”
The son of Loren and Shari Crannell, he joins Vasquez High teammates Bronson Perez, Michael Brousseau and Armando Alonso, who have previously signed with the Jimmies.
